An Immigrant Story: From Humble Beginnings to Global Leadership
Michael’s journey is one of perseverance, resilience, and hope. Over 120 years ago, his grandfather immigrated to Canada at the age of fifteen. This profound legacy of determination carried over to Michael's own story.
Born in Hong Kong, Michael was the youngest of seven children. At just 12 years old, his family immigrated to Vancouver in search of a better life. But tragedy struck only two months after their arrival when Michael’s father was killed by a drunk driver while crossing the street. This devastating loss left his widowed mother to raise seven children on her own. Suddenly, the promise of a fresh start in Canada turned into an uphill battle for survival.
From a young age, Michael understood the value of hard work. To help support his family, he delivered newspapers after school, washed food trucks in freezing winters, picked potatoes and strawberries on summer farms, and worked at a gas station in his spare time. These challenges shaped his work ethic and taught him the importance of resilience.
Determined to succeed, Michael balanced his part-time jobs and summer work with his education, completing all his schooling—from elementary school to university—in Vancouver. He earned degrees in Computer Science and an MBA, equipping himself with the knowledge and skills to thrive in a competitive world.
Michael’s professional path took him across the globe, where he became a successful executive in the technology and business sectors. Despite achieving international success, he has never forgotten what truly matters: family, community, and the promise of opportunity in Canada.
Today, Michael lives in Ontario, where he has called home for over 20 years. As a proud husband and father to three successful adult children, Michael cherishes family life and values policies that support hard-working Canadians. His deep connection to the vibrant diversity of his community fuels his passion for public service.
Michael is running for Parliament to build a future where everyone—no matter their background—has an equal opportunity to succeed. With his leadership experience, dedication to fiscal responsibility, commitment to fair immigration policies, and focus on community safety, Michael is ready to represent his neighbours in Ottawa and build a brighter future for all Canadians.

Key Issues

Controlling the Federal Deficit & Lowering Taxes
Strong, responsible leadership means managing our economy with care and foresight. Michael is committed to reducing the federal deficit and balancing the budget by cutting unnecessary government spending and repealing ineffective policies like the Carbon Tax and the Capital Gains Tax hike. His approach will ease the financial burden on families and businesses, stimulate economic growth, and ensure Canada’s long-term economic stability.

Crime Prevention & Safer Communities
Michael is committed to building safer communities by strengthening crime prevention and reducing crime rates. He will work closely with law enforcement to implement effective strategies, raise public awareness, and review penalties for criminal offenses to better deter threats against families, local businesses, and neighborhoods. By promoting stronger community-police partnerships and focusing on prevention, Michael aims to create a safer environment where all residents can thrive.

Housing Affordability for All Canadians
Michael believes that every Canadian deserves the opportunity to build a stable future and a place to call home. He understands that rising housing costs have made it harder for young people and families to put down roots. That’s why he’s committed to promoting responsible development, supporting first-time homebuyers, and ensuring affordable housing options are within reach — helping more Canadians achieve the dream of homeownership

Expanding Trade Partnerships for a Stronger Economy
Expanding Canada's network of international trade partners is key to building a stronger economy. Michael is committed to negotiating new trade agreements that open up more markets for Canadian businesses to grow and succeed. By fostering economic diversification, supporting small businesses, and creating new job opportunities, he will help secure a more resilient and sustainable future for all Canadians.
